Executive Director, Health Care
Dr. Jason Hwang is the co-founder and Executive Director, Health Care of Innosight Institute, a not-for-profit think tank devoted to applying the theories of disruptive innovation to problems in the social sector. He is the coauthor of The Innovator’s Prescription: A Disruptive Solution for Health Care with Harvard Business School Professor and best-selling author Clayton Christensen, and the late Jerome Grossman, formerly the director of the Harvard/Kennedy School Health Care Delivery Policy Program.
Dr. Hwang is an internal medicine physician and was previously a Harvard Business School Fellow at Innosight, a consulting firm based in Watertown, Mass. Prior to that, Dr. Hwang worked at the Health Horizons Program of the Institute for the Future, a think tank in Palo Alto, Calif. and taught as a clinical instructor at the University of California, Irvine until 2004. He has also worked with the Southern California Kaiser Permanente Medical Group and the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Long Beach, Calif.
Dr. Hwang received his B.S. and M.D. from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and he completed his internal medicine residency training at the University of California, Irvine, where he also served as Chief Resident from 2002-2003. He was awarded an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School in 2006.
