Gunnar Counselman is the CEO of Fidelis, which he founded in January 2011 to build a scalable solution to the challenge of the military to civilian career transition. Fidelis was named one of Fast Company’s 10 most innovative education companies in 2012.
In addition to leading Fidelis, Gunnar is an adjunct fellow for the Innosight Institute, and has been an independent consultant in higher education since leaving Bain and Company in 2007. He’s worked with leading companies, private colleges, and private equity firms. While at Harvard Business School, he collaborated with Clayton Christensen on early research for the book Disrupting Class: How Disruptive Innovation Will Change the Way the World Learns by Innosight Institute cofounders Clayton M. Christensen and Michael B. Horn as well as Curtis Johnson. A former Marine, Gunnar deployed to Bosnia, Iraq, the Horn of Africa, and Central America as a Human Intelligence Officer.
