Education Research Fellow
Description: The education research fellow will support Innosight Institute’s education practice’s research and writing efforts in two critical ways. First, this person would provide more capacity as a primary writer of case studies and white papers about the opportunity for digital learning and its proper policy context. Second, this person would travel extensively to various education conferences, meetings, and state hearings to educate policymakers and audiences about digital learning. This role would be ideal for a business school graduate with expertise in the theories of disruptive innovation and strong writing and speaking abilities.
About Innosight Institute: Innosight Institute is a not-for-profit, non-partisan think tank located in Mountain View, Calif. whose mission is to apply Harvard Business School Professor Clayton M. Christensen’s theories of disruptive innovation to develop and promote solutions to the most vexing problems in the social sector. Founded in May of 2007, its education practice seeks to transform education systems from their current monolithic, factory-model designs that only serve a minority of students well for today’s world into student-centric systems that educate every child successfully so that each can realize her fullest human potential. The primary focus currently is the U.S. K-12 public education system, although the practice works increasingly on the problems confronting higher education and spends some time working to improve education outside of the United States. The award-winning book Disrupting Class: How Disruptive Innovation Will Change the Way the World Learns forms the intellectual basis for the practice’s work.
