Research
We are conducting ongoing research in both the education and health-care fields to expand the visions and understanding of the phenomenon as described in Disrupting Class and The Innovator’s Prescription. Our primary research strain currently revolves around the writing of case studies.
Description–a clear understanding of the phenomenon–is a core piece to any body of scientific research. These case studies will allow us to better understand disruptions in both fields–from their promise to their current shortfalls to how they work in the trenches. This will also give policymakers and other stakeholders a clearer understanding of how these disruptions work and what they actually are.
Our research then involves deduction–the application of our lenses of innovation to these phenomenon–both the innovations and clearer understandings of the problems at hand–to allow us to generate more useful and circumstantial policy recommendations for how these innovations might emerge as well as how to channel them properly toward greater quality without stamping out–and even pushing the envelope on–their innovative natures.
Our Mission: Learn about our unique mission statement in the world of not-for-profit think tanks.
Disruptive Innovation: What exactly is disruptive innovation?
Our History: Founded in May of 2007, we have published two books thus far–in education and in health care.
Spreading Our Vision: We publish widely and speak around the world about our research and recommendations.
Workshops: Workshops allow us to work with an individual organization to establish a common language and baseline understanding of our principles, tools, and techniques as well as implications for what this might mean for the particular organization.
